Cookies today joined Thailand’s flowering cannabis industry with the opening of the fashion cannabis brand’s first dispensary in Asia. Thailand’s forward-thinking stance has seen explosive growth in its cannabis trade, and for Cookies marks the 58th store of the global chain co-founded by rapper and cannabis entrepreneur Berner.

The launch of Cookies Thailand sets yets another milestone for Thailand, Asia’s leader in cannabis commerce. Thailand is one of only three countries in the world, along with Uruguay and Canada, to commercially export cannabis. Its stance on recreational cannabis has seen local entrepreneurs, foreign investors and Thailand’s largest conglomerates welcome Thailand’s burgeoning cannabis trade.

The legality of recreational cannabis in Thailand has also bested one of the biggest difficulties faced by U.S. dispensaries—Cookies Thailand the first dispensary in Asia to allow credit card purchases.

Bringing smiles to the Land of Smiles

On Saturday, Cookies Founder Berner attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the dispensary located in a posh Bangkok neighborhood and held a meet-and-greet with celebrity guests.  Thai partners in the venture are the Golden Triangle Group, a leading developer and manufacturer of hemp and cannabis in Thailand.

“The fact that my first time going to Asia is to open up a Cookies store is not something I could have ever imagined and really special,” said Berner, Co-Founder and CEO of Cookies. “This store is beautiful and we are grateful for our partners on the ground in Thailand who helped make this possible. Thailand is an incredibly unique place full of incredible culture and opening up a Cookies store with the support of the country of Thailand, I am grateful for.”

The second-storey dispensary is located in a posh Bangkok neighborhood in Thailand’s culture-rich capital.

To honor the Southeast Asian country’s vibrant culture, the 500-square-foot dispensary boasts a beautifully curated atmosphere with Thai-inspired wall paintings. Cookies’ cannabis products will be available for purchase, along with exclusive Cookies SF clothing and accessories and locally reserved merchandise specific to Thailand.

“It’s really exciting to see the global appeal the brand has. Not only are they a preeminent genetics company when it comes to cannabis, but the fashion and the success behind it really connects with the cannabis community,” says Andreas, GM and partner at the newly opened dispensary. “We’re excited to be able support local growers, local companies and other dispensaries by bringing this to Thailand.”

Cookies Thailand is located at 51/2 Soi Ruamrudee, Lumpini, Pathumwan, Bangkok. Learn more at cookies.co.
