MONTCLAIR, NJ (August 8, 2022) – Global Cannabis Times is a finalist for a prestigious Folio Eddie award as one of the top new B2B print magazines launched in the past year.
Global Cannabis Times, a production of founding partners SmartWork Media, Zuber Lawler and Global Go, published its inaugural issue in April 2022. The magazine, which also produces the website Globalcannabistimes.com, joins National Nut Grower (Great American Publishing) and H&V Magazine (Cone Health/H&V Magazine, Ethos Creative Group) as a finalist in the Eddie Award category of “Best Magazine Launch > B2B.”
Folio, the “bible of the magazine publishing industry,” on Friday announced the finalists for the 2022 Eddie & Ozzie Awards. The prestigious awards program celebrates excellence in editorial (Eddie Awards) and design (Ozzie Awards) in the publishing industry. More than 1,300 entries were received across nearly 170 categories for this year’s edition. Finalists represent the highest scoring entries per category, adjudicated by qualified editorial and design professionals, the NYC-based publisher said in a statement.
The Global Cannabis Times editorial team is led by editor-in-chief Damon Poeter and SmartWork group design editor Victor Cantal, under the guidance of SmartWork group editorial director David Squires. The magazine’s mission is to fill each issue with a digestible mix of global cannabis marketplace analysis and insights from industry leaders, as well as in-the-trenches tips and ideas for dispensary operators and their employees.

The GCT sister publication’s editorial team led by editor-in-chief Trace Shelton is a finalist for an Eddie in the B2B category of Instructional/How-To articles for “Lean” (February 2022, by Chris Burslem). INSTORE’s design team is up for an Ozzie for Feature Design for “Holiday Whoppers” (December 2021, by Eileen McClelland).
