Stop It with the Discounts, Please
- Pushing BOGOs and discounts is called “performance marketing” but these tactics are really disguising a lack of brand positioning and are a slippery slope that will end a handful of brands. I see countless soulless companies pushing discounts to clear inventory, which not only drives down prices but also establishes dangerous customer habits of looking at price over quality. I get the need to clear inventory, but some brands just suck. Without these offers, they’d be nothing.
