Vermont Cannabis Week Offers Small Businesses Tips on Becoming Cream of the Crop

It won’t be just pumpkins glowing in the Vermont sun this October. Vermont Cannabis Week — coordinated by cannabis media and news company Heady Vermont — will showcase the pastoral pleasures of its small product makers and independent retailers from October 1-8 in Burlington.   The event will introduce businesses to market-ready consumers in the Green Mountain State.

Vermont Cannabis Week’s focus is on independent businesses who craft cannabis in the fashion of Vermont’s famed small-batch products — like (once) home-based Vermont indie Ben& Jerry’s. Having experience growing the market presence of growers and small-batch product-makers in the past, Heady Vermont promises guidance for newcomers on the state’s newest agricultural and retail industries. Vermont’s Cannabis Control Board only issued the state’s first cannabis operating license in May, noting that it anticipates licensing steam to quickly pick up.

Events will inform producers and retailers on the use of statewide and regional marketing campaigns and how to employ dedicated digital platforms. Additionally, in true to straight-from-farm Vermont-style, the canna-biz expo will also offer guidance on direct to consumer-style events, such building local presence through farmers’ markets.

“This is sort of a continued theme, I think, for us this year, of promoting small growers and product makers and now we’re getting independent retailers into the mix,” said Heady Vermon CEO Monica Donovan. “We’ll be putting some legwork into a very focused and strategic marketing campaign over the next several months as we build up to the fall.”

Heady Vermont welcomed over 800 people to its third annual growers’ cup celebration, The Headies Cup, in April. Attendees viewed and sampled products from Vermont’s most talented cannabis cultivators and product makers, including several who are now being approved for cannabis licensing.
