The Parent Company Teams With Curio Wellness to Bring Top California Brands to Maryland

SAN JOSE, CA-based The Parent Company (TPCO) announced this week that it has entered into an exclusive 4-year brand licensing, cultivation and production agreement with cannabis healthcare and wellness provider Curio Wellness of Baltimore, MD. The partnership brings TPCO’s recognized brands of flower, prerolls, vapes and infused edibles to the state of Maryland and marks the Californian company’s introduction to the East Coast market.

The Parent Company is a vertically integrated cannabis company with eleven retail locations, six delivery hubs and a curated product portfolio of over 17 owned and licensed brands, which include Jay-Z’s Monogram, Caliva, Mirayo by Santana and Deli. Under the terms of the licensing agreement, those and other TPCO-owned brands will be available at Curio’s Far & Dotter dispensaries (formerly Curio Wellness dispensaries) later this year — with wholesale distribution across the state to follow.

“We are thrilled to complete our first out-of-state expansion and excited to introduce Maryland to our high-quality branded products,” said Troy Datcher, CEO, and chairman of TPCO. “Curio’s premier indoor-grown cannabis, cGMP certification and proven execution make them a great partner to provide Maryland’s patients with access to our well-known California brands. This is an important first step as we build our presence outside of California.”

Cultivated with care

Curio will exclusively manufacture, distribute, market and sell TPCO-branded products according to the exacting specifications and quality standards established by TPCO. Some of the products will feature TPCO’s signature California strains, but will be cultivated by Curio’s state-of-the art facilities in collaboration with The Parent Company.

Michael Bronfein, CEO of Curio Wellness said, “We are focused on providing Maryland’s patients with some of the highest quality, most innovative products that promote a better quality of life. I’m thrilled to welcome The Parent Company’s brands to the Curio family and look forward to working with their team to introduce new bespoke offerings for this important market.”

Since being established in Maryland in 2014, Curio has served cannabis patients as a trusted healthcare partner providing safe, effective and reliable products.  Business Insider named Curio to its list of the top 16 startups in the cannabis industry for 2022. In Maryland, Curio established itself as a c-GMP-certified, leading brand in the medical cannabis industry by serving patients with targeted and effective cannabis-based therapeutics.
