The California State Fair today announced the return of a home-harvested cannabis competition to the judge’s table in 2023, as the California State fair hosts it second annual, state-agency sanctioned cannabis showdown. The Cannabis Awards and Exhibit will be on display at the fair from July 14-30, 2023 at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA.

“The 2022 Cannabis Awards and Exhibit were an overwhelming success for Cal Expo and the State Fair,” said Cal Expo Board of Directors Chairman Jess Durfee. “We are here to support and celebrate the best of California.”

The competition is open to all licensed cannabis growers in California. The competition is scored by scientific analysis performed and certified by SC Labs.

The competition sees the acceptance of cannabis as part of California’s rich agricultural heritage of fruits, vegetables, wine, craft beer, olive oil and cheese. The fair held at Cal Expo in Sacramento, CA is a 17-day event showcasing California’s industries, livestock and agriculture and its diversity of people.

The submission window for Cali cultivators officially opens on Jan. 10 and closes April 30, 2023. For more information, visit here.
