Redman, Weedmaps CEO Chris Beals Keynote Speakers at Cannabis Expo in NYC

From sea to shinning sea, New York City plans to remain the nation’s hub of commerce — now in the cannabis market. The 2022 Cannabis World Congress & Business Expo — a B2B trade show and conference — opens it doors June 2nd-4th at NYC’s Javits Center to the huddled masses yearning to breath cannabis-talk freely.

The liberation of cannabis is bringing influential and informed minds in the industry to the East Coast’s fastest growing business sector. Addresses from industry leaders on adult-use legalization and legislation, and their impact on businesses, communities and lifestyle, are available for businesses entering the nascent East Coast industry. The lively trade show lets CWCBExpo exhibitors showcase their latest products, technologies and services while networking and forming nationwide collaborations.

Redman wants to bring more to the party
Being thrown with typical Big-Apple panache, including an industry yacht party on June 3 and an after-after party sponsored by Spleef, a keynote conversation will be with Redman. The legendary, old-school rapper from Newark, NJ now works not only as a musician, but as an author, actor, record producer and the co-founder of the National Cannabis Party. Launched in 2021 to tackle the political side of marijuana, the NCP is an official Presidential Electoral Party registered with the Federal Elections Commission.

“The reason why you never seen a Redman product, a Redman vape pen, a Redman strain, anything, because I’ve been holding my brand for the bigger purpose, which is NCP, the National Cannabis Party,” Redman told online music magazine HipHopDX.  “And what we are doing is, we are about giving the plant back to the people. We are about the structure of this cannabis industry. We are about education for our people.” Redman will be interviewed by Steve Bloom, publisher and editor of CelebStoner, and the former editor of High Times for more than a decade.

Weedmaps CEO, Chris Beals, is the keynote speaker on Day 1 of CWCBExpo. Weedmaps is also sponsoring a networking mixer on June 2 from 5-7 pm. Mona Zhang, states cannabis policy reporter for POLITICO, will interview Chris discussing Weedmaps, its mission and place in the industry and how Weedmaps’ technology solutions help power cannabis businesses across North America. Weedmaps recently added direct merchant ordering from it widely accessed cannabis database.

“We’re looking forward to hearing Chris speak and discuss the Weedmaps mission to provide technology solutions for building an inclusive, safe and convenient cannabis industry for all consumers — an especially important topic as we look to New York state beginning recreational cannabis sales later this year,” said Christine Ianuzzi, CEO and show director at CWCBExpo.

Tremaine Wright, chair of New York State Cannabis Control Board, will speak June 3 at the expo.

Diversity in action
Other speakers include women of color who have earn top positions in the industry. Gia Morón, president of Women Grow, founder and CEO of GMV Communications will share her 25 years of experience in public relations, brand and business development. CWCBExpo is co-hosted by Faye Coleman, founder and CEO of  Pure Genesis, a provider of cannabis products, services, consulting and educational programming for the cannabis industry. Another featured keynote speaker is Tremaine Wright, chair of New York State Cannabis Control Board. Wright is responsible for the regulatory and tax policies regarding medical and adult-use cannabis in New York State.

Female entrepreneurs will be given table space to showcase their products for the first time in the Women Grow Pavilion, sponsored by CWCBExpo and Women Grow to foster entrepreneurship and success for minority and women-owned cannabis businesses. CWCBExpo has also partnered with Proud Mary, a LGBTQ+ cannabis association to provide exhibit space and a safe environment for the LGBTQ+ entrepreneurial community and to recognize Gay Pride Month.

Single and multi-day ticket packages for the Cannabis World Congress & Business Expo can be accessed via its registration page at https://cwcbexpo.com/registration_ny/.
