Apple zealots now can call up cannabis between selfies with a new iOS app launched Monday by leading e-commerce provider Jane Technologies.

The Jane iOS app brings a curated shopping experience to the Apple universe, enabling users to discover products based on real-time local inventory, verified reviews and personalized recommendations. Similar to how Spotify personalizes a playlist, one feature of the app, Jane’s Collections, includes curated lists for everything from sleeping to socializing based on activity, reviews and user interests.

“The app provides consumers with a personalized, trusted shopping experience while continuing to empower our local retail partners to grow their businesses,” says Jane’s CEO Socrates Rosenfeld.

Santa Cruz, CA-based Jane offers retailers a turnkey e-commerce solution, powering more than 2,800 dispensaries and brands across 38 states as well as Canada. Jane says its online sales accounted for 38% of all cannabis sales in 2021, reaching $3.5 billion in total transactional volume.

Advertising placement for stores and brands

For cannabis retailers, Jane features customizable store pages allowing dispensaries to manage their storefront within the app, so users can shop real-time menus and schedule a delivery or pickup.

For cannabis brands, the app represents a new way to get in front of consumers directly. The app features brand pages with content, products, deals and information on nearby availability. Brands can partner with Jane to sponsor relevant areas of the app experience to further boost their reach.

“The design celebrates cannabis products, brands and retailers while optimizing the shopping experience and prioritizing customer needs with Collections and effect-based shopping,” said Jared Marr, VP of Design at Jane. “The consumer-first UI is simple yet efficient, reframing cannabis shopping to be approachable and common like ordering lunch for delivery or pickup.”

For each person who downloads the app and makes a purchase, Jane will donate $1 to their partners at the Last Prisoner Project to help free those still imprisoned on cannabis charges.

To download Jane, visit the Apple App Store.
