High Tide Sees Smarts in Branded White Label Products for Its New Fall Line

The leading Canadian retailer of recreational cannabis, High Tide of Ontario, announced it will begin sales of white-label products produced under the Cabana Cannabis Co. brand this fall. High Tide’s brick-and-mortar Canna Cabana retail outlets and the Ontario Cannabis Store will carry Cabana Cannabis branded shatter, THC gummies, pre-rolls, tinctures and softgels under whiteagreements with four premier cannabis providers.

High Tide is curating a branded inventory sourced from premium manufacturers via white-labeling agreements.  White labeling is a process that allows a cannabis retailer to put their own logo on product from a third-party vendor and price it how they see fit — frequently to the advantage of the consumer. White labeling is distinct from private labeling, which involves a vendor crafting an exclusive product that only the contracting retailer/e-tailer can sell as their own.

“By drawing on the latest insights into consumer preferences from our Cabanalytics data and working with our contracted licensed producers through white label agreements, we are introducing a lineup of the greatest hits of premium and competitively-priced products that we know will be well-received by our customers.”

— Raj Grover, president and chief executive officer of High Tide

Approved for online sales
The official announcement follows the Ontario Cannabis Store  approving the new line of products for its website. The Ontario Cannabis Store is the only legal online retailer of recreational cannabis in Ontario. The companies behind the opening flavors of the Cabana Cannabis Co. line are: Heritage Cannabis Holdings, who will produce Cabana Cannabis Co. Pink Hawaiian shatter; Loosh Brands’ white labeled THC gummies; Candre Cannabis will serve up Cabana Cannabis Co. Apricot Jelly pre-rolls and Emprise Canada’s will contribute its full-spectrum oil and softgels (including CBD, CBN, CBG, CBC, and Delta-9 THC). All the products are expected to be for sale on the Ontario Cannabis Store in October or November.

“I am very pleased to announce that we have a confirmed timeline to begin sales of Cabana Cannabis Co. products in Ontario, which is Canada’s largest provincial market for cannabis. By drawing on the latest insights into consumer preferences from our Cabanalytics data and working with our contracted licensed producers through white label agreements, we are introducing a lineup of the greatest hits of premium and competitively-priced products that we know will be well-received by our customers,” said Raj Grover, president and chief executive officer of High Tide.  “We intend to continue leveraging our Cabanalytics data to significantly expand the Cabana Cannabis Co. catalog moving forward, through white label contracts with licensed producers. Over the long-term, we intend to have 20-30% of our total bricks-and-mortar sales come from the expanded Cabana Cannabis Co. product lineup, allowing us to enhance our bricks-and-mortar retail margins while also directly serving the preferences and needs of our customers,” Grover said.
