Cookies Miami Marks Rapper Berner’s First Dispensary in Florida

Rapper and entrepreneur Berner, who recently spoke with GCT about ascent to the top of the cannabis world, opened his Cookie brand’s 52nd dispensary today — debuting in Florida’s medical cannabis market today with the opening of Cookies Miami.

San Francisco-headquartered Cookies, founded as a cannabis company in 2010 bb Berner and breeder and cultivator Jai, features a menu of over 70 cannabis strains and more than 2,000 products. Its Girl Scout Cookies remains one of the most sought-after cannabis strains in the world. The new 3,100 square-foot location will feature Cookies’ inventory of curated cultivars and custom Cookies merchandise.

“We really took our time to dial in the quality of our flower and extracts,” said Berner, Co-Founder and CEO of Cookies. “I couldn’t be prouder of the product we are releasing to the market on Saturday.”

The Sunshine State is one of the nation’s largest medical cannabis markets with more than 740,000 registered patients, according to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use.  Last year alone, Florida saw a 22% increase in sales and a cannabis workforce of over 25,000.

To celebrate the Aug. 13 grand opening, Cookies hosted a meet-and-greet with Berner, who enthused over the ribbon cutting ceremony’s attendance.

“The amount of love and hype around our first opening in Florida is overwhelming; I haven’t felt this kind of energy in a while,” said Berner.

Cookies opened its first retail store in 2018 in Los Angeles and has since expanded to over 50 retail locations in 17 markets across 5 countries. Cookies was named one of America’s Hottest Brands of 2021 by AdAge, the first cannabis brand to ever receive this accolade.

Cookies Miami on Bird Road is open Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 8:30 pm. Sundays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Learn more at cookies.co.
