The third annual Cannabis Packaging Conference (CPC) returns to Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA from April 12-13. The exhibition is being run in concert with California’s largest packing conference, WestPack, which draws 1,400 exhibitors from 70 countries.

Produced in collaboration with the California Cannabis Industry Association, next month’s CPC will include keynote addresses from leading legal cannabis industry experts. The event also serves as an opportunity for brands and packagers to network, learn about innovative new products and gather insights and solutions from others in the industry.

Formerly known as the Cannabis Packaging Summit, this year’s conference hosts two days of discussion and introductions to the latest packaging technology. To help companies tackle the challenge of their sector’s unparalleled growth, a chief discussion topic will be advances in automated packing technology. As the industry confronts the good problem of exploding sales growth, many cannabis product makers are demanding greater use of automated packaging to keep distribution flowing.

“Regardless of the industry, the demand for sophisticated packaging technology is rising, especially in highly regulated industries, such as the cannabis sector. As such, brands and packagers face constant challenges that require face-to-face connection and education,” CPC group event director Adrienne Zepeda said in a statement.

The Cannabis Packaging Conference keynote presentations open each day of the event. On April 12, a panel exploring the opportunities in cannabis packaging features experts from MJBiz of Denver, CO, Cleveland, OH-based Grove Bags, Papa & Barkley of Eureka, CA, and Tourmaline Enterprise of Temecula, CA.

The panel is expected to emphasize the need for packaging companies to be flexible and versed in the demands and regulations of each state they are supplying, including medical packaging issues. To that end, attorney Vicente Sederberg, who heads a cannabis law firm providing legal and policy services to marijuana and hemp businesses, will lead a panel of regulatory experts on analysis of the cannabis packaging landscape in the Western U.S. On the second day of the conference, Lindsay Robinson of the California Cannabis Industry Association will headline the Cannabis Packaging Regulations Forum, addressing the state of California cannabis.

“We are proud to provide an all-encompassing platform comprising in-person offerings that facilitate much-needed connection, spotlight new solutions, and accelerate business,” Zepeda said.

“It’s truly an unmissable event for anyone in cannabis packaging interested in meeting potential new partners, discovering the latest solutions, and learning from the world’s brightest minds advancing this dynamic industry.”

Other topics of panel-led discussions include:

  • Driving Cannabis Packaging Innovation Forward Through Packaging Partnerships
  • Sustainability Strategies for Cannabis Packaging
  • The Cannabis Culture Iceberg: Building Your Brand and Packaging Strategy
  • The Importance of Material Selection when Designing Medical Enclosures
  • Product Development Innovation in an Age of Regulatory Uncertainty

Registration is currently open and those who wish to attend can register here to reserve a conference pass.
